Hill of Beath, 6th March
New 30Ah battery acquired so trap run overnight on a cold night. Only one moth trapped (and still present in the morning) - a Clouded Drab. To me they always resemble buffaloes from head on

Cullaloe 4-5 March, 2015
Without moth trap, poking around in Sallow catkins with a headtorch. Also scattered around the place and netted were a few Agonopterix ocellana (new for the reserve).
On the Sallows ... Common Quaker and Hebrew Character. Not photographed was also a single Chestnut. MIght have been worth spending some more time, but I only gave it an hour and a quick couple of tours up and down the path. Looking forward to more willow catkins opening up for further headtorch fun.
